The junction in this alleycat = Signal the Botrange, 694m alt., the highest point in Belgium. Start & Finish point, and you will pass Belgium's highest point 2 more times.

Visit the following 6 landmarks during this challenging winter day, all of them are sperre's, lac's or see's, in Belgium and Germany:

Kalltalsperre - Wesertalsperre - Perlenbachtalsperre - Lac de Robertville - Stausee Butgenbach - Oleftalsperre;

In between, forests and the High Fens.

Start on Signal the Botrange, visiting all 6 landmarks and come back to the Signal? That would be way too simple ...

The Rules

- Start on Signal the Botrange, at sunrise 8:39 AM;

- Visit all 6 landmarks. You have to visit the dam of every sperre, lac, see ...;

- After visiting 2 landmarks, you have to come back to the Signal before visiting another 2. It's an alleycat after all ...

- So, in the end, you will reach the highest point of Belgium 3 times ...;

- All roads are allowed, road & offroad;

- Changing bikes in between is not allowed; changing clothes is allowed;

- Winners pass Signal 3 times; losers get in their car after 1 or 2 times;

- Solo or team of 2;

Ooh, and one more thing, you have to pass the center of Monschau as well (the market place), any time you want, but you have to pass it to feel the real Christmas atmosphere. Gluhwein?

Today's playground - the Hautes Fagnes

The High Fens German: Hohes Venn; (French: Hautes Fagnes; Dutch: Hoge Venen), which were declared a nature reserve in 1957, are an upland area, a plateau region in the province of Liège, in the east of Belgium and adjoining parts of Germany, between the Ardennes and the Eifel highlands. The High Fens are the largest nature reserve or park in Belgium, with an area of 4,501.2 hectares (11,123 acres); it lies within the German-Belgian natural park Hohes Venn-Eifel (700 square kilometres (270 sq mi)), in the Ardennes. Its highest point, at 694 metres (2,277 ft) above sea level, is the Signal de Botrange near Eupen, and also the highest point in Belgium. A tower 6 metres (20 ft) high was built here that reaches 700 metres (2,297 ft) above sea level.
